George Frideric Handel

Handel Facts:

Born:  February 23, 1685
Died: April 14, 1759
Country: Germany

Handel Trivia:

Beethoven called Handel "the greatest composer who ever lived." 

Handel's most well-known work was Messiah, often referred to incorrectly as The Messiah.

Handel never married.

Unlike many composers of the Baroque Period, Handel died leaving a sizable estate, most of which went to a niece.

Handel was buried in Westminster Abbey.
