Tinikling is the national dance of the Philippines.  It is similar to rope dancing but in this dance, two bamboos poles are hit against wooden blocks on the floor (or sometimes, just against a wooden floor itself) and against each other.  In English, "Tinikling" means "tikling-like."

In Tinikling, dancers are imitating the way the tikling bird walks amongst the grass stems and bamboo traps set in its native country.
